I've decided to rethink my ultra training plan. I was planning on running both Saturday and Sunday each weekend, but after my knees started hurting me last weekend, I decided just one long weekend run would probably be better. So, now I'm thinking a long run on Saturdays, an easy recovery run on Mondays, and another run on Thursdays (tempo?).
Monday, 2/06
The Plan ↠ RESTReality ↠ Foam rolling and stretching after work.
Tuesday, 2/07
The Plan ↠ NTC The Descent | 39 minReality ↠ I surprisingly finished this workout faster than expected. It only took me 35:38. What?! I feel like I must have missed a couple exercises or something, because rep-based workouts usually always take me longer. lol.

The Plan ↠ 2 mile Recovery Run + BenchmarkReality ↠ 2.3 mile run with Sallie + Benchmark
I like taking Sallie with me on my mid-week runs because it forces me to take it easy. My knee was OK on the run; still a little tweaky, but OK overall. After my run, I did my Benchmark in 7 min. That's 1 1/2 minutes faster than when I did it a couple weeks ago! When I came out of the back room, Jeff was shocked at how sweaty I got in just 7 minutes.
Him: Whoa! I didn't think you were back there that long.
Me: 7 minutes, I guess.
Him: Impressive how sweaty you got!

The Plan ↠ Yoga+CoreReality ↠ I did 3 yoga videos before work (Feet & Legs Love, Happy Hips & Pyramid Pose). None of them were exactly what I wanted. I probably should have chosen a longer practice from the get-go. I ran out of time to do anything specifically core-related. I thought about doing something after work, but that didn't happen, either.
Friday, 2/10
The Plan ↠ RESTReality ↠ Since I skipped core on Thursday, I did a little yoga specifically for the core - Core Strength Ritual.
I also took a sick day from work. I've been feeling really rundown lately and had a headache most of the week. I just wanted to stay in bed all day. I slept in until 6AM and then took a nap from around 9 to 11:30.
I also discovered that Season 4 of Devious Maids has been added to Hulu. I watched 2 episodes. I don't know why I love the show so much. It's just light and fun, I guess.
Saturday, 2/11
The Plan ↠ 3-hour run, or at least 10.5 milesReality ↠ 5-hour run | 18.5 miles
My time and distance are estimates. My phone died with about 1 mile to go, but stopped accurately tracking me much earlier than that. My knees were still bothering me a bit, so I wore knee compression sleeves for this run. They helped a LOT. My knees are still a bit achy, but not as bad as they could have been.
It was a gorgeous morning! The skies were overcast and there was a slight breeze. It was perfect running weather.
