Friday Five 2.0 - StrideBox Review

At the end of December, Sarah reached out to me to see if I'd like to try out a StrideBox. Of course, I said yes, because I'm a sucker for anything free. :-)

I absolutely LOVED this box!

I know there are a lot of subscription boxes out there to choose from, but I think that StrideBox really goes above and beyond.

Friday Five 2.0 is a freebie topic this week, so I'm linking up with Running on Happy and Fairytales and Fitness to share 5 Things I Love About StrideBox.

One

Packaging. Isn't the design on this box cute?

The box came lined with yellow tissue paper, which I tore when opening the package, so no pic. It's a really small thing, but it made the box seem a little more special.

But what I loved most about the box was it's size, and that it fit in my mailbox. We have issues with packages at our apartment complex. The office often loses packages and never alerts residents that a package arrived. If you don't know something is coming, you can get a bit screwed. Packages coming through the USPS often have better luck - except that some vandals broke into the parcel lockers for larger packages in December and stole all the packages. Booo! All that to say, I was excited that this gem fit right in our regular mailbox.

Two

All the products. Of course.

There was a nice variety of fuel to try plus one really cool accessory. I haven't actually tried everything yet, but here are a few of the items I have tried.

Power Bar - Protein Snack Bar - PB & Caramel
Power Bar - Protein Snack Bar - PB & Caramel
OMG! This was so delicious! I devoured it. I would definitely buy more of these.
I enjoyed this after a 5 mile run.

Pacific Health - Accel Gel - Key Lime
Pacific Health - Accel Gel - Key Lime
I tried this during a 10 mile trail run. I tend to like gels and this was no exception.
The key lime flavor was exactly what you'd expect - a perfect mix of sweet and tart.
Bonus that it was pretty easy to open as well.

Foods Alive - Power Snackers - Lemon Chia Crunch
Foods Alive - Power Snackers - Lemon Chia Crunch
I tried these after a 10 mile trail run. I liked the crunch and the slight lemon flavor, but
there was another flavor as well that I didn't care for much.

StrideBox Essentials Water Resistant Silicone LED Armband
StrideBox Essentials Water Resistant Silicone LED Armband
I've worn this on several early morning runs! I usually chose the blinky setting.
It mostly stayed in place and I usually forgot I had it on.

I'm looking forward to trying out the rest of the items.

Three

The Stride Guide.

The Stride Guide @stridebox #stridebox

This isn't unique to Stridebox. I'm guessing all subscription boxes come with a guide, but it's still something that I love. I love how it lays out everything in the box and let's you know when to use (before, during, or after a workout) and where to go for more info on the product. The pricing is nice as well.

Four

The back of the Stride Guide.

On the back of their guide is a collage of photos from social media that used #TagYourTrail. I love how they showcase real photos from real people. I found it very inspiring. And made me want to get out and hit my trails!

Five

Make It/Do It Card.

Make It / Do It @StrideBox #stridebox

This card was probably my favoritist thing in the StrideBox! One side had a fun recipe to try and the other had a workout. I love that they work with bloggers to provide these cards. More fun stuff from real runners. More inspiration. More to try. More to feel accomplished about.

A StrideBox subscription is only $15 per month and there is no minimum commitment. You can cancel at any time. It's a great way to discover new items and to find some inspiration, too.

Have you tried StrideBox?

Review: Hemp Hearts

I recently received a complimentary bag of Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts to try out.

Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts

Being a Sweat Pink Ambassador has its perks. ;-)

Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts

These tiny little hemp hearts are delicious and add a little nutty flavor/texture to whatever you wish to sprinkle them on. They're perfect for after a tough workout or just whenever you need a little energy boost.

I used some to make a delicious blueberry, kiwi smoothie.

Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts

I sprinkled some onto a tasty wrap sandwich.

Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts

And onto a bowl of potato soup.

Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts

I even tried out one of the recipes on their site - Hemp Hearts & Coconut Bar

Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts

And O.M.G. These were GOOD!! Seriously, so DELICIOUS!! I only had about 1/4 cup left in my sample bag, so, regrettably, I had to make a pretty small batch. :-(

Sadly, all it made was these 4 little bars. I tried my best to savor them, but it was REALLY difficult to not scarf them all down in one sitting.

My sample might be all gone, but the awesome folks at Manitoba Harvest offered to send a free bag of Hemp Hearts to one lucky reader, so you can try this recipe yourself!

Or use them any other way you'd like.

Review: Tommie Copper & a Giveaway

I recently received a pair of Performance Compression Capris from Tommie Copper in exchange for an honest review.

{Review} Tommie Copper Performance Compression Capris
After the Big Game 5K

And by recently, I mean back in August.
But then I went on that unplanned blogging hiatus and never ended up writing a review. Oops!

Imagine my surprise when they unexpectedly sent me a 2nd pair a couple weeks ago! Guess I really owe them a review now. :)

And I owe it to all of you as well, because if you haven't heard of, or tried, Tommie Copper yet, you've been missing out!

From their About Us page:
Tommie Copper combines sport science and skin health benefits for improved mobility, performance and relief. All Tommie Copper products feature 100% CopperZnergy™copper and zinc-infused fabric. CopperZnergy eliminates odors caused by microbes and offers UPF 50+ protection from the suns harmful UV rays and Cool Copper technology keeps you dry for skin health benefits.
I've ran a half marathon, a full marathon, and a 5K in these capris (plus lots of everyday running), so I can honestly say that I really, really like these!

It must be the copper. :)

I love that these are low-rise. Most of the other compression shorts I've tried come up well above my waist, which is nice when you need a little compression for your low back as well, but I loved that these sit squarely on my hips. Such high-rise shorts can be a little uncomfortable (to me).

I love that these are super comfortable. The material is soft, but sturdy, and flexible. I could lounge around in these all day. Or run. For a reasonable amount of time. Maybe not all day, but that's more because I'm just not ready for an all day run. Someday, perhaps. And then Tommie Copper will be there for me, I'm sure.

{Review} Tommie Copper Performance Compression Capris
Perfect for jumping pictures after a surprising PR!

I do think that I might have needed to go with a smaller size. For compression capris, these seemed to go on very easily for me, and didn't feel particularly tight. Better than too tight, I suppose, but there were times that they felt like they were falling down while running. They weren't really, but I think a smaller size might have been better for me.

I love that Care for these is easy-peasy. Machine-washable. Tumble dry low. Yay! No dryer sheets or fabric softener, but that's pretty typical of athletic/running-specific clothing. I always hang mine to dry, but I hang most of my running clothes, so it's no big thing. Mostly I just love that they aren't hand wash, because, well, I'm terrible about that.

I love the variety of products available. There are lots more fun products than capris. From Tops to Elbow Sleeves to this really cool Recovery Compression Core Band that I really want to try!

It's easy to look for items by Men or Women, Performance or Recovery. BUT I love that you can also search by Pain Point. Experiencing discomfort in your legs or back? They've got you covered with great suggestions on what might help to alleviate it.

Since I love my capris so much, I'm super excited that the folks at Tommie Copper agreed to let me host a giveaway! One lucky reader will win a $50 coupon code! Whoo hoo!! Enter using the Rafflecopter below. Giveaway will be open through Feb 23. Good luck!

Review: Altra Running

At the end of a recent RunChat, my phone started blowing up with notifications!

I WON A PAIR OF ALTRA RUNNING SHOES!!

I was blown away. And super excited! I'd heard lots of good things about Atra Running Shoes, and I'd been wanting to try them for awhile.

By Thursday, my new shoes had arrived. That was FAST! Whoo hoo!!!

I chose the One² - their lightest weight and lightest cushioning women's shoe.

These babies are super light! When the box arrived, it felt EMPTY! After shaking it, I could hear a slight rustling, so I knew there was, in fact, a pair of shoes inside. :-)

Altra Running | One Squared

I took them out for a 4-mile run the very next morning.
It was like running on AIR! So light, so comfy!

These are zero drop shoes, which I've been attempting to convert to for the past few months. These have a little more cushion than my other zero drop shoes, which I liked. I still need to work on improving my running form, though.

Since Altra shoes have significant differences from traditional running shoes, there was a pamphlet inside to help with the transition. There is also a page on Common Injuries & Self Care. So helpful!

Altra Running | Fit, Technique & Transition Guide

You can also visit the Run Better section of their website for helpful info on running form, transitioning to Altra shoes, and details about the design of their shoes and how they should fit.

My 2nd run in my new shoes was during the Big Game 5k. When I announced to Jeff that I'd gotten a pretty significant PR, his first question was....
Was it the new shoes?! :-D
Not sure I can entirely give full credit to the new shoes, but, yeah, I'm pretty sure they played a part.

I think I might be an Altra convert.

#FrostyVoxBox Review

It's been a couple of weeks since I unboxed my #FrostyVoxBox. In case you missed the unboxing, you can watch it now.

Since then, I've been enjoying all of the fun products that I received complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

Let's check them all out.

NYC Expert Last Lip Color in Sugar Plum - $1.99
I LOVED this lip color and would definitely recommend it. The color is perfect, and it's so creamy when you put it on. I also loved the smell. I don't know why, I just did. This lip color definitely perked me up and made me feel pretty. Plus it lasted for hours. Maybe not all day, but definitely from morning into the late afternoon. Love it! #SugarPlum

NYC Expert Last Lip Color in #SugarPlum

Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner - $4.49
If you're looking for a bold, black eyeliner, this is a great one. It goes on smooth, but I did find it a little tricky to get the right amount of application. It was easy to make it a little too dark for the work day. I did think that it lasted throughout the day well. Unless you apply it to your waterline. I loved the effect of it on my waterline, but it was pretty much gone by lunchtime. It also comes in other colors, which I'm excited to try. I'm hoping that a lighter color might be easier for me to work with. #Rimmel

#Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner

Rimmel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover - $7.49
Another winner. However, since this is gentle, it didn't work quite as well when removing the Scandaleyes eyeliner. I had to scrub a little harder than I would have liked when removing the waterproof eyeliner, but this worked really well for my regular eye makeup. The biggest plus to this eye makeup remover is that it is non-oil based, so no oily residue. Yay! I also used this for touch-ups on those mornings when my makeup just wasn't working. #Rimmel

EcoTools Hair Brush - $10.99
I'm now a hair brush enthusiast. Well, that might be going a bit far; it's still my only hair brush. :-) I love that it's got a tangle-free design, and you can use it on wet or dry hair. I think it helps control the frizzies when combined with my blow dryer. Plus, who doesn't love a little head massage in the morning? #LoveMyEcoBrush

EcoTools Hair Brush #LoveMyEcoBrush

Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Decaf Green Tea
I think this was my first experience with green tea. Not sure I could tell a difference between it and any other kind of tea. I did enjoy the tea, though. The candy cane flavor was mild enough to be enjoyable without being too overbearing. They didn't have any at my grocery store, but I'll have to remember this flavor for next winter. #CelestialTea

Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Decaf Green Tea #CelestialTea

McCormick Gourmet All Natural Thyme - $4.79
After trying this, I really think that everyone could use a little more thyme in their lives. :-) I tried this in pasta as well as infused in my water. It's really fragrant, and I love the earthy taste. #McCormickGourmet

Fruit Vines Bites Strawberry - $1.79
Yum! Enough said. :-) lol. Seriously, I'm a big licorice fan, and I love FruitVines. These bite-sized versions are super fun, too. It's a perfect little treat when you're craving something sweet. #SweetSide

Boots No7 Protect & Perfect Intense ADVANCED - $29.99
The sample I received wasn't really enough to try it out for 2 weeks to see how well it works, so keep that in mind. :-) I did like the lightness of the product. It smoothed on really well, and even though it suggested using it with a moisturizer, I didn't feel like it was necessary. It's not at all sticky, but left my face and neck feeling light and fresh. #GetADVANCED

To blossom, you must grow. My 2015 planner.

I know. I know. I said I would share this post with you yesterday, but well, we met some friends for drinks Sunday night, which meant I didn't have time to write the post in time to publish Monday morning.

I know you'll forgive me, though. :-)

If you haven't found a 2015 planner yet (last year I didn't buy one until February, so I figure I'm way ahead of the game this year. lol.), I think I found a real winner!

2015 planning calendar
Isn't it super cute?!

I love, LOVE the elastic band. I'm sure there's a real name for it, but I can't think of it. :-( I love calendars and journals with this feature because it makes it so easy to find which week I'm in without having to flip through all the pages.

It came with TWO pages of fun stickers that you can use to mark important dates, like holidays, coffee dates, date nights, appointments, etc.

2015 planning calendar

In the front of the calendar, there is a page for each month. I love the shaded area at the bottom - perfect for jotting my monthly goals!

2015 planning calendar

Then, each week is on a 2-page spread.

2015 planning calendar

It's a little difficult to tell from the above picture, but there is an inspirational/motivational quotation under the dates.

Last week's quotation:
Zest is the secret of all beauty. There is no beauty that is attractive without zest.
~Christian Dior
There are also a few lines for notes at the top of the right side of the week, along with a snapshot of the current and following months.

I also love that there is a column on the left called "This Week" for notes, goals, whatnot for the full week. And then a full column for each day of the week, starting with Monday. This will be perfect for me to record my workouts, blogging ideas, meal plans, etc.

Many of the planners I've had in the past didn't really give me enough room to write everything I wanted to, but this one seems like I'll have plenty of room. Yay!

The last fun feature to this planner is the multiple pages of Shopping List / To Do lists in the back.

2015 planning calendar

There are 3 to a page, and they're perforated, so it will be easy to take on-the-go without grabbing the whole planner. Not sure how much I'll use these, since most of my shopping and to do lists are done with apps on my phone.

I bought this planner at Office Depot for $14.99. I hemmed and hawed over buying it, because I wasn't sure that I wanted to spend that much for a planner.

But after I got home and searched for planners on Amazon, I realized that it was a pretty good price for a planner, and then it hit me just how much I loved all the fun little extras this one had to offer.

I'm really looking forward to using it throughout the whole year!

Do you use an old-school paper planner?

Ultimate Coffee Date - January 2015

I'm super excited about the Ultimate Coffee Date in 2015! Mostly because I've decided to do these coffee dates on YouTube.

So, if you want to join me for some catching up and chatting, you can check out my vlog.

Or you can read on, if video isn't your thing.

If we were having coffee today... I'd tell you that I was actually drinking tea this morning. Celestial Seasoning Candy Cane Lane tea that I received complimentary from Influenster in my #FrostyVoxBox. Verdict? It's really tasty! Kind of a subtle flavor - not too overpowering. I also used a coupon I received to buy some Caramel Apple Dream tea, which I am super excited to try out. I'd ask if you ever drink tea and what your favorite variety is.

If we were having coffee today... I'd tell you complain a little about the DOMS I'm experiencing from yesterday's workout. One of my January goals is to do strength training 2x a week. Yesterday was my first workout. It focused on arms and core, and man, am I ever feeling it today. AND IT FEELS GREAT! I'd ask if you secretly love the DOMS as much as I do.

If we were having coffee today... I'd tell you how much I'm in love with makeup and nail art right now. I went a little overboard with new makeup last month, and my makeup drawer was getting a little out of control.

So, we bought a makeup organizer.

I love it, but there isn't really room for it in either of our bathrooms. Hopefully we'll find a house that we love that will accommodate this organizer. :-)

There still isn't enough room for all my nail polishes and art, so we might get another organizer as well. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw my Christmas trees, Peppermint Swirls, Gold gradient, and NYE nails.

So much fun! And the best part is that a couple days ago, Jeff mentioned how impressed he was that I was getting into nail art. He seemed really sincere, too. Whoo hoo.

If we were having coffee today... I'd tell you about all the fun things I'm looking forward to in 2015. Buying a house. A huge road trip this summer. Ragnar Zion. Trails of Fury. I'd ask you what you were looking forward to in the year ahead.

If we were having coffee today... I'd invite you to join me for #RaceShirtFriday. Just share a pic and tag me on Twitter (EnjoytheCourse) or IG (Enjoyingthecourse). I'd love to see all your different race shirts. And hear your stories.

Well, that's all I've got this month! If you want to hear me ramble on a bit more about all of these things, be sure to pop over to my YouTube video.

And don't forget to stop by all the others who linked up for the Ultimate Coffee Date over at Confessions of a Mother Runner.

If we were having coffee today, what would you tell me?
What are you most looking forward to in 2015?

Review: Louva Arm Sleeves

A few weeks ago, Louva Gear followed me on Twitter. SO exciting!! Naturally, I followed back and let me them know I'd love to try out a pair of their sleeves.

Just a few days later, I was testing them out on a run.

Louva Gear arm sleeves

The thing I love about arm sleeves is that they can prolong how long into the winter I can wear my tank tops and short sleeve shirts.

Plus they're super fun! And these arm sleeves are no exception; they're awesome!

I mean they have thumb holes. Isn't everything better with thumb holes?! So, they help keep my hands nice and warm, too.

There is also a nice thick banding at the top to help keep them in place. No slippage for me at all, and I've taken them on quite a few runs!

Plus the material is super soft.

And the best part is they are only $12. TWELVE DOLLARS. I mean you really can't beat that price for these comfy little gems.

Currently, they are only available in white, but rumor has it they'll be coming out with other colors sometime in the future.

The white is great because, if you're feeling artistic, you can write on the sleeves. Motivational quotes. Your splits. The sky's the limit. These would have been really handy for Rock and Roll Las Vegas when I wrote my splits on my arms. :-D

Here's the back of the packaging.

Louva Gear Arm Sleeves

I haven't washed mine yet, but the Care Instructions seem super easy. Bonus points!

The only complaint I have about these sleeves is that after only a couple of runs, they did start to pill a little on the insides of the elbow area.

Maybe it's also a sign that I need to take a closer look at my running form. :-D

Overall, I would definitely recommend these arm sleeves to anyone looking for a good quality, inexpensive way to keep a little bit warmer on those chilly days!

Pros:
  • Price
  • Super soft
  • Thumb holes
  • Stays put on your arm
  • Easy to clean
  • Easy to customize
Cons:
  • Pilling
  • Only available in white

Louva Gear is a pretty new company. Check out their story here. You can also check them out on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.

Do you prefer arm sleeves or long sleeves for chilly weather running?

Disclosure: I received these arm sleeves complimentary from Louva Gear in exchange for an honest review.

Koss FitSeries - The Perfect Gift for Active Women

This post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of Koss.

Less than 10 days until Christmas. Is your shopping done? No?

Are you still looking for that perfect gift for yourself the active woman in your life? I recently had the opportunity to try out the new Koss FitSeries headphones as a FitFluential ambassador. They come in two styles - FitBuds and FitClips.

Koss headphones

Personally, I preferred the FitClips. They fit easily around my ear, and I barely noticed them during my 5-mile run. I meant to try them out during my marathon, but ended up not listening to any music with headphones.

Unfortunately, I had some difficulty with the FitBuds. The left one always seemed to pop-out. Could have been user error.

I'm not really much of a headphone aficionado. I usually just use whatever comes with my phone. :-) That said, I really thought the sound quality was good. I didn't have to turn the volume up nearly as high as with my other ear buds. Score!

Koss FitClips

Both styles of headphones come with 3 different sizes of cushioning, so you can customize the fit to your ear.

Koss FitSeries Headphones
See the difference in sizes of the two headphones without the cushioning? I think is this partially why I liked the FitClips better. So much smaller. :)

They're designed by women, specifically for women.
The FitBuds are 33% smaller than other Koss earbuds.

They're sweat resistant and come in a variety of colors.

Koss FitSeries Headphones

But the best part is that they are totally affordable! Normally $29.99, they're on sale at several retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, Walgreens, Kmart and Sears for $19.99. Or less!!

Sounds like a pretty great deal to me!

Friday's Favorite!

Isn't this how we all wish we looked after every run? With a huge smile on our faces?

This was a great run - in part due to my new YMX by Yellowman top. As part of my ambassadorship with FitFluential, I was shipped two tops to try - and they quickly became my favorites.

I'd heard that their tops tend to run a bit small, so I ordered a large I normally buy medium, and these were perfect!

I love the super long length!

Makes these tops perfect for almost any sport from running to yoga to biking.

I loved that it didn't ride up at all during my runs, like some of my other tops. And stayed put while on the mat.

The pink top I received even has a pocket in the back.

Perfect for a little fuel. Not so perfect as a pocket for my phone. :( It was a little too bouncy, and I was afraid it would fall out - even though it was quite secure, actually.

I love the super soft, breathable material!

It's MadKool fabric.
Nothing is better than your own skin. It breathes, it shines, and it feels. MadKool® fabric is designed to do the same.
I really did feel like it was part of my skin. It certainly got as wet and sweaty as my skin did. :) Normally, I can't run long distances in sleeveless tops without the inside of my upper arms chafing, but no chafing with these tank tops!! Definitely a HUGE plus in my book. Oh, AND, these can be thrown in the washer and dryer. Just don't use fabric softener. :)

I love the super fun designs!

Most of my other tops are plain and boring or race shirts, so these were definitely a fun addition. I even worn the blue top out on a date night.

And eventually, it will be worn to work.

These tops retail at $69, but I think they're totally worth the price. They are so versatile! They are so fun! They are so comfortable!

They are definitely this Friday's Favorite!!

What's your Friday Favorite?

How about a little Sustained Energy?

I did a pretty fun stairs workout this morning.

Vegas Stairs Workout

It was AWESOME! But it wiped me out. Time to recover and restore some of that energy.

Designer Whey smoothie

Designer Whey has come out with a new addition to their line of protein powders - Sustained Energy. You may have seen an ad for it in the June issue of Shape magazine.

Designer Whey

As a FitFluential ambassador, I was given the opportunity to take this protein powder for a test drive. Perfect timing for me as I received a canister of both the Vanilla Bean and the Chocolate Velvet right at the beginning of marathon training.

Delicious for recovery. On mornings like today.

Or just to wake up in the morning. For those days, when the snooze button wins.

For whatever reason, it's the perfect addition to my random morning smoothie. I say random because, I rarely follow a recipe. I generally start with some almond milk, orange juice, and then add whatever fruit I might have on hand. Sometimes spinach, if I have any.

Adding a scoop of Designer Whey Sustained Energy powder adds just a little more oomph.

What makes it so good?

From their website...
Designer Whey® Sustained Energy™ is specifically formulated with our proprietary Endurance Blend™. Designed to give you balanced, stimulant-free, sustained energy through fast absorbing whey protein and slower absorbing soy and casein proteins, giving you a steady supply of essential amino acids while helping you control hunger with fiber. Packed with 16 grams of protein, 5 grams of fiber and 19 Essential Vitamins & Minerals and naturally flavored and sweetened – all for only 100-good-for-you calories!
Sounds pretty perfect to me!

New to using protein powder or looking to mix it up with some new recipes? Just check out the Designer Whey recipes tab for lots of great ideas.

This morning, I tried this Tropical Tone-Up smoothie, as featured in Shape. Of course, I'm not sure how it's possible to make a smoothie with only 1/2 cup of milk, so I doubled it for mine.

I mostly stick to smoothies (boring, I know), but I also experimented a bit by adding some protein powder to my favorite banana cookie bars and even a batch a brownies. The extra protein helped to satisfy that sweet tooth without getting carried away feeling too guilty.

Protein Brownies Designer Whey

Designer Whey sure is excited about the launch of Sustained Energy! So excited, in fact, that they're offering to give 6 of you a canister to try for yourself. Yes, SIX of you will get to try either the Vanilla Bean or Chocolate Velvet.

Check out the Rafflecopter for your chances to win.

Review of ... Kona Kase

Being an ambassador for FitFluential has some sweet perks. Like trying out Kona Kase.

Performance. Fueled. Monthly.

I think monthly boxes similar to Kona Kase are all the rage right now. There are boxes for women. Boxes for men. Boxes for pets. Boxes with clothes. Boxes with food.

They're all over the place, but what I love about Kona Kase is that it offers fuel for my active lifestyle. I don't know about you, but I can get pretty overwhelmed when trying to decide what kind of fuel to try for my long runs or recovery from my long runs or simply snacks for that late afternoon craving.

And sometimes I get bored with the same old thing and like to mix it up, but don't know what to try next or where to find it.

Kona Kase makes it simple to try new products that you may never have heard of or weren't willing to try on your own.

Here is a picture of what I got in my June Box.

More than just fuel for your body, each box also comes with an inspirational quote. Fuel for your mind. :)

As well as a little blurb about each product and maybe a training tip on how to get the most out of the delectable little treat. Sometimes, you might even get a little discount code off your purchase of more. Can't beat that!

The little card that describes all the products also has a little spot on it for you to give it a grade from 1-5. If you're like me, you might forget if you don't write it down. Ha!

There are still a couple items that I haven't tried yet, because I'm on a running hiatus, but I loved nearly every item I've tried. The Half Pops were particularly satisfying. They're like popcorn that hasn't quite popped all the way, and seasoned deliciously. Only problem was that one bag was supposed to be 2 servings. Oops!

Add to all of these are the two guys behind Kona Kase - Taylor and John. They're regular athletes just like us who wanted to help make it easier to discover these great, lesser-known brands and breath some life into our fuel - instead of relying on our boring old energy bars. These guys are also super focused on customer service. They're quick to respond to any questions you may have, and they just seem like a couple of fun guys.

A monthly subscription starts at just $15, or you could get a discount by signing up for 3, 6, or 12 months. Either way, you can cancel at anytime if you're not satisfied, but I don't see how that's possible. :)

So, are you ready to try Kona Kase? If you're not quite sure, here's a little discount code that might help you say YES! Just enter FFJuly to receive $5 off month one.

Diet-to-Go Really Delivers

I was recently given the opportunity to review Diet-to-Go, an amazing diet meal delivery service. I was beyond impressed with my 3-day trial, and I thought I'd be able to express that better with a video.

I apologize, but I got a little rambly and the video is around 9 min. Still, I hope you'll take the time to watch it.

What I loved
  • Super delicious and convenient
  • 3 different menu types with lots of variety
  • Customizable menu plan to fit your needs
  • Delivered right to your door
  • Very little prep time and clean-up is a breeze

What I didn't care for
  • Packaging is annoying (but unsure if that was just my sampling)
  • An a la carte options would be nice
  • Kind of spendy (but not really compared to other similar services)

I would absolutely recommend this for anyone looking for a diet meal delivery service, or anyone wanting to take control of their portions and to eat a bit healthier.

I'm excited to share with you an opportunity to try this for 20% off any meal plan. Just visit Diet-to-Go and use the coupon code: fitfluential.
