Weekly Wrap - Mar 4

Linking up with Holly and Wendy for the Weekly Wrap. Be sure to stop by their blogs to see what everyone else was up to last week.

How was your week? In case you missed my Ultimate Coffee Date post, I'm currently battling a cold. It's the worst I've had in a while, and it sucks! I've already gone through So. Many. Tissues. I bought some Kleenex with soothing lotion and they are a lifesaver! My nose is still a bit raw but the tissues are nice and soft when I need to blow, which makes this situation a little more bearable. I've also been drinking tea with honey and lemon. It's really been hitting the spot.

I'm crossing my fingers that this cold doesn't stick around too long. I'm ready for spring!

Weekly Wrap

Workouts

I started the week pretty strong, but my body probably knew a cold was coming on by mid-week. I was so tired on Wed, but I still finished Rachel's Supermans, Planks, & Twists February challenge before heading to bed.

She started a Total Body challenge on the 1st. It's a little different format than January and February's challenges, and I'm really excited about it! Sundays are supposed to be rest days, but I took my rest day yesterday instead. 😜

Weekly Wrap - February 26-March 4

After yesterday's rest day, I decided to try to sweat out my cold. 😷 I went for my 1 mile run and did 20 burpees for Rachel's challenge. It wasn't too bad - except it was quite windy. I started to get pretty tired after 1/2 mile, but I still did the remaining 10 burpees when I got back.

This cold will not get the best of me!

Some friends on Facebook are doing a mini challenge of crunches and leg raises. We started with 20 & 10 and will add 1 rep everyday to end with 50 & 40. This little group has been doing challenges each month this year, and I've done wildly terrible with them. I hoping to stick with it this month, though!

I would have liked to get in one more yoga video this week. I usually do a longer yoga practice on Sundays but just wasn't feeling up to it today.

The bad wife award goes to me this week! Jeff's birthday was on Wednesday, and I didn't even send him a birthday text or anything. I thought about it being his birthday before work but then work was pretty busy and soon enough I forgot all about it. At least his brother and sister sent him very nice messages for his 40th birthday! It's a good thing he doesn't care much about birthdays! 😄

  1. The only tip for kicking a cold is to be patient! Seriously, there is not anything magical. I wish there was, just think how high my patient satisfaction scores would be! Feel better!

  2. So sorry to hear that you have a bad cold :( I hope that it goes away soon. I know how annoying that can be!

I'm also doing the Total Body Challenge :)

    1. So annoying! But I think of it as my body telling me to slow down. :) That helps a little. ;)

Looking forward to seeing your posts in the FB group!

  3. Sorry to hear you have been fighting this cold. I am sure Jeff understood and you got a pass on that one. That wind was no joke yesterday, even today is was still bad.

    1. The funny thing was that I wasn't even sick yet on his birthday, but he was. He completely forgot as well until he started getting a bunch of FB messages. LOL

    1. Thanks, Deb! I took the day off work just to give myself a little more time to rest. Hoping that one more day will do the trick.

  5. Colds are so frustrating and really just know how to knock you out! So sorry - keep drinking that tea with honey and lemon. That usually helps me too.

  6. I hope your cold is short lived! Not being able to breathe through your nose is like the worst thing for me. Good luck with the new challenges this month. I think Rachel will have everybody in tip top shape for summer! Thanks for linking.

    1. Yes! It's the worst. Breathing through my mouth gives me a sore throat. I just want to breathe normal again!

  7. My colds can be really bad, but I like to sweat them out too. I figure there is nothing wrong with my body, and I plow ahead. It's not the best strategy since a cold means I need rest, but I'm not good at being sick.

    1. I totally get that! Just wish it hadn't been so windy on my tiny little run, but figured 1 mile probably wouldn't make the cold worse, you know?! :)

  8. Cold are the worst! I'm starting to feel the affects of all the pollen- ugh. Hope you're feeling better. Like you, I like to try and sweat them out. I really need to start doing yoga again!!!

  9. That leg lift challenge sounds enticing! I did oodles of leg lifts when I was sidelined last summer...I seriously think they did a lot of good toning on my legs! I need to remember to do them again...

    1. Ah, yes! Leg lifts are great! I don't do them nearly often enough, so I'm really hoping to stick with this challenge. :)

  10. I'm going to need to get in on these challenges, this one sounds tough but rewarding. I'm doing a squat/pushup/lunge challenge through my tri team for the month of March and the pushups are HARD!

    1. If Rachel does another challenge next month, you should definitely join in! Lots of support in a FB group, too. Push-ups are definitely hard. I always do modifications. :)

  11. I hope you recover quickly from your cold! Great job still getting in your workouts. Hopefully you got enough rest! Rachel's challenges have looked great but too hard for me, lol!

    1. Definitely not too hard for you! Lots of people do modifications (myself included), so you should definitely join in on the next one!
